How Can A Firm Lump On The Hard Palate Be Treated?
Question: I have a firm lump toward the back of my hard palate (right between gum line and midline). Maybe the size of half a pea (dome-ish, but not very pronounced height wise). It does not hurt and it is he same color as surrounding tissue. I noticed about 4 days ago. While it seems very firm/hard, if I massage it a bit, I can almost get it to disappear completely (after a few moments it will then "swell" back up). What could this be? Is it potentially dangerous (e.g. minor salivary gland cancer)? Thank you!

I upload pic. Some of the redness is probably from me rubbing both sides of the roof of my mouth. You can see the lump on the right side of the picture in the middle (this is on the left side of my mouth)

It is probably a minor salivary gland infection. Avoid rubbing the lesion.
You should get a fnac done from the swelling to see the cause. The management will depend on the test results
In case it is just cystic, nothing is to be done.
If it is an infected salivary gland, an antibiotic course must be taken and the lesion will subside.
In case the fnac shows some malignant change which is unlikely as it appears in the picture, it must be excised.
