Question: Hi there, I'm 29, M, 5'8, 174 lbs, generally healthy but have always had gut issues (never diagnosed) Starting Monday evening (7/29) I've had pain in my abdomen. Monday evening and most of the day Tuesday, it was quite a bit of pain. Felt very bloated and like my stomach was knotted. Tuesday evening I passed a good amount of gas and the pain subsided some. Yesterday it was still sore if I pushed on my belly (pretty much anywhere but maybe a bit more tender on the right side) but was not in constant pain anymore. Still felt bloated. Today, little is changed. Still feel bloated and pain when I push (although maybe a little less). No pain just sitting still or moving around though, besides the uncomfortableness of feeling bloated.

Wondering if this sounds like something I should be concerned about? If I search anywhere online, pretty much all that comes up is appendicitis, however I don't have any of the other listed symptoms (nausea, lack of appetite etc.) I've had similar pain in the past that I've figured was gas, but typically went away in 24 hours or so..

Brief Answer:
most probably subacute intestinal obstruction

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history well and understood the concerns.
The history of passing of gas reducing the pain goes in favor of intestinal sub-acute obstruction since you have no nausea or vomiting but have bloating/gases.
And this is recurrent.
Such things can occur secondary to some problems like appendicitis, diverticulitis or even lymph node mass.
But the proper diagnosis is possible only on proper clinical evaluation, examination and investigations.
Since you are still bloated, this is the right time to have X-ray of abdomen in standing and laying down position, Ultrasonography/ CT scan of abdomen to get the correct diagnosis.
I would advise you strongly to get minimal definitive investigations to get a proper diagnosis which allows for the most proper management and cure.

I hope this answers your query and helps you in proper diagnosis and management.
Please get these things done and give me the feedback.

Take care.
