Hi There... I Had A CT Scan For A Kidney

Question: Hi there... I had a CT scan for a kidney stone... the report came back saying there is a probable .3cm left ureteral vesicular junction stone but it's hard to see because there are numerous phleboliths surrounding it. No hydronephrosis or hydroureter.

And there is a non-obstructing stone in the right kidney.

The pressure in the area above my penis is pretty intense and the urgency to pee is still there, almost a week since the pain started. All other areas of the CT scan were normal except finding "nonspecific minimal soft tissue stranding around the celiac axis and multiple appendicoliths in my appendix but no appendicitis"

How long do you think this pressure/urgency will last? Shouldn't the stone just drop in the bladder and what is making it stay there?

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
May last up to 2 weeks in the meantime drink a lot of water.

Detailed Answer:
good day thank you for being with health care magic.

because of the symptoms that you're having you may have a ureteral stone in the ureterovesical junction. the stone is very small 0.3 cm 80 to 90% chance that it will pass out on its own. i suggest drinking a lot of water around 2 to 3 liters of water a day to help pass the stone. usually you wait for 2 weeks before saying that the stone would not pass on its own so the waiting time would be 2 weeks. it is really hard to determine which stone woyld pass and which would remain in the ureter blocking the urine. we have seen 1 cm stones passed out immediately and some patients with 0.3 cm stones unable to pass their stone and needed endoscopic removal. it would depend on the inflammation of the ureter at the area of the stone.
