Hi There! I Been Taking Aderral For Depression Low Dosage Could Cause Hepatitis Or Liver Issues?

Question: Hi there! I been taking aderral for depression (instant release) about 2mg a day only for 2 years. I'm 23 female. I've noticed couple weeks from now that the upper right quadrant of my abdomen (think about the line of my right front rib, the line where it ends towards my belly and under breast) has been very very stiff. Sometimes when i come home from work at night I feel burning sensation, stiffness and discomfort but not quite pain. Also makes weird gas like noises, like liquid or something moving. Does seem slightly swollen. My stools have been soft and pale (yellowish).. should i be concerned that such low dosage could cause hepatitis or liver issues? I need at least 9 to 10 hrs of sleep to feel refreshed yet i don't feel energy without my low dosage of aderral. I do have very poor diet mostly dollar tree pasta and food and fast food... thanks for any suggestions ! Btw my mom is anemic and my dad had intestine cancer at 60 which spread to his damaged liver then he died but he also drank a lot, i occasionally have coffee and energy drinks but never alcohol.

Brief Answer:
Liver gallbladder problem or Gastritis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

You have mentioned that pain is in right side of abdomen. Clinically right side of abdomen is divided into upper, middle and lower part. Each part contains different group of organs therefore treatment and diagnosis depends on the quadrant of right side involved for e.g right upper quadrant contains liver and gallbladder while right lower quadrant contains appendix, colon, part of intestine. So if pain is involving upper quadrant it could reflect pathology of liver or gallbladder or acid peptic disorder.

I would like to see a photo of your abdomen with finger or palm showing the area where you feel pain.
Secondly medications tried for gas unformed stools etc if any?
Any thing which relieves pain like belching or farting?

Any test like ultrasound etc has been done? I would suggest you to go for an ultrasound of abdomen.Once its normal you have to get treatment on lines of acid peptic disorder.
Investigation suggested are-
usg abdomen
Endoscopy to rule out acid peptic disease.

Hope I was helpful.
Thanks!

Brief Answer:
Both can be a contributory factor.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again.
Intake of certain foods.
-Eating too fast that can entrap excess of air.
-Lactose intolerance, excess intake of dairy.
-Diseases like Crohn's Disease.
-Bacterial infection in intestines.
-Constipation.
-Frequent chewing of chewing gums and sucking candies.
-Excess intake of dairy etc.

As it is a chronic cause you need to consult a Gastroenterologist and get a thorough evaluation done and he can advise you investigations like endoscopy, blood tests, stool culture, etc. to confirm the diagnosis and treatment of the cause can resolve the problem
Thanks!
