Question: Hi, my 3 years old toddler has been having high a fever for about 5 (five) days, non stop coughing, fussy, no appetite. We brought him to the nighttime pediatric clinic 2 days ago, the Dr there checked on him, and said the strap throat result was negative and there was no whizzing on his chest , so we went home and continued with giving him motrin and tylenol every 4 hours. This morning I noticed his palms and feet are yellowish color. Any idea of what's going on, suggestion, please.. thank you

Brief Answer:
Probably a viral infection, follow the advice below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The symptoms of your child seem to be related to a viral infection.

A possible viral infection is hand, foot and mouth disease which can cause a yellowish color on the extremities.

I suggest using an anti-inflammatory medication such as Tylenol.

I also recommend giving your child liquids frequently.

The symptoms may last for a few days or a week.

This viral infection is very common and usually go away on its own.

Hope I have answered your query.
