Sir during cold weather he frequently gets cold and cough. He got ear infection too one month back. Now he is suffering with severe cough and mild fever from yesterday. I am nebulizing him with duolin and giving him relant and colpol for fever. Kindly suggest what else should be the treatment. And what should be the precautions to avoid getting frequent cold cough.

Brief Answer:
Supportive
Detailed Answer:
Treatment is on the proper lines. Most often such episodes are due to some viral infections and usually they have an allergic component associated. I would insist you to try giving him Relent. Calpol can be given for fever. Apart from giving fresh fruits and vegetables, and avoiding cold, hardly anything can be done to prevent frequent recurrences.
You need to give steam inhalation to your child. It helps in reducing the congestion and thereby the cough. Just sit with the child on your lap and place the source of steam before you. The water vapor will be in the air and automatically the child will breathe it in. Water vapor will reach deep inside and would help in diluting the cough and thus would provide relief.
If your child is otherwise active and playful, I would not be concerned. If not, it would be a good idea to visit a doctor and to get the child evaluated.
