Question: Hi, for the last 3 days I've been having a sore throat and pain in my left ear. I looked in the back of my throat and I see a lump that is a pinkish yellow. I've had some minor trouble swallowing but nothing major. I have pictures too if a doctor can help me diagnose it. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
It seems that you are having allergic pharyngitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hii. Welcome to the Ask A Doctor service.

It seems that you are having allergic pharyngitis. It can be due to allergic reaction to dust, cold, viral infections or acid reflux. You start taking me warm saline and betadine gargle twice daily. Take tablet levicetrizine or allegra tablet at bedtime. The small lump may be granular pharynx. So start with gargle. Take pantoprazole tablet at morning before food. Drink more warm water, green tea, hot milk. Take steam inhalation. If not subsided within 7 days then antibiotic need to be started. Avoid smoking, alcohol.
