Question: Hi, first off I will introduce myself & my medical history. I am 18 years old & was pretty healthy minimal problems until a few years ago. A year ago I had really bad pain in my left eye, was sent to a neurologist had an MRI & a lesion was found on my right side of my brain. I was diagnosed with optic neuritis & sent to another neurologist for a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. That neurologist said I had clinically isolated syndrome and was going to put me on medication. I got mad at the nurse at the clinic & never got back to them as the nurse was extremely rude and caused me to have anxiety attacks. My symptoms have worsened and I am not sure where to go to. I feel uncomfortable going back to that place. Should I call them or my primary care?

Brief Answer:
visit primary care at present and get further directions accordingly.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query and here is my advise.

* As per my clinical experience, your primary concern at this time must be
to get best initial relief of current symptoms which will be best opted by
your primary care physician.

It is the present systemic evaluation, which will be deciding your further course of action as per the neurologic reference is required at which time.

So I strongly recommend you to avoid visit at previously uncomfortable place and raise your anxiety, rather let your primary care give you best initial care and guide you further directions.

Do remember to discuss with your primary care about the things regarding your experience with that clinic, so he may have better precision if he decides to refer to neurology center in future.

Wish you best health and recovery.
Regards.
