Hi sir ,

I have started abdomen workout on Monday and I took this test on Thursday.I have not taken CPK test. I have visited gastroenterologist in my place he suggested me to take ULTRASOUND SCAN for abdomen and result was all normal . Liver , pancreas all normal. And he asked me to take TONELIV tablet for one week and SORBILINE syrup for one month. And he suggest me to not to drink repeat LFT test after one month.

I want to know SGOT AND SGPT level increased due to abdomen exercise or LIVER problem . And my muscle pain also reduced now.

Brief Answer:
Answer given below

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the additional details.
In alcohol related liver disease SGOT will be more than SGPT and the ratio will be more than 2.
You have SGOT SGPT ratio more than 2 and it is likely that your abnormal test result is due to alcohol related liver issue.
Having said that exercise also increases SGOT and SGPT levels. This exercise induced elevation lasts for up to 1 week after the exercise.
So to know whether the elevated enzymes are due to exercise, you can do the following -
1. Check CPK levels. This will also be elevated if it is exercise induced
2. Or Wait for 7-10 after exercise and get liver function test done again. If it was exercise induced, the SGOT and SGPT will return to baseline during that period and not if it was due to alcohol induced liver disease.

Dr.R.K.

Hi sir ,

Thanks for your reply and you said that I can check LFT after 7 to 10 days of exercise. Should I stop exercise and check LFT or should I continue exercise and check test ? Please guide me sir?
