so then what could have caused me to be much shorter than my family if its all genetics?
Brief Answer:
Can be due to early puberty.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The shorter height can be due to improper nutrition and exercise during the growing years that causes decrease in growth hormone release. Early puberty also causes decrease in height. Your height usually is the average of your parent's height. You can consult an endocrinologist for a detailed evaluation.
Hope my answer is helpful.
