What Causes Alternating Attacks Of Chills And Cold When Diagnosed With UTI?

default
Posted on Mon, 7 Mar 2016
Question: Hi,

My mother is having severe cold attack ; she is shivering badly. She has normal BP , temperature and sugar level . The doctor has prescribed SOS drugs Taxim-O (3 times a day ) and Mefkind-forte (3 times a day). She is not shivering now but complaining about cold. She has a history of UTI (Uninary Tract Infection) with the similar symptoms. We had done urine routine test for her that came out negative that shows mild urine infection. Please see the attached report.

Please suggest what is the treatment for this infection. My doctor has prescribed her Amecacin-750mg is this fine? Could you please confirm the drug for this UTI infection.

Thanks
doctor

Brief Answer:
has acute UTI, continue Taxim-o

Detailed Answer:
Hi, XXXXXXX
Thanks for posting query on HCM.
Read detailed history and symptoms of your mother.
Having alternate attack of chills and cold is typically found acute urinary tract infection.
Report shows severe urinary tract infection and so she is getting chills, feeling cold and fever.
Give her tablet Taxim-o to your mother as prescribed by your doctor.
Start the treatment with Taxim-O three times and not SOS.
Continue for 7 days till infection clears.
If you start this medicine, you can avoid giving Amikacin which is again good medicine for UTI.
Mefkind fort you can give when she is having temperature or bodyache as and when required.
Give her plenty of water and light diet.
I hope, I answered your query.
If you have further query or clarification, please write back.
Wish her sppedy recovery.
