Question: Hi

My mom is suffering from severe tooth ache. Unfortunately, we are tested positive for Covid and quarantined and its been 4 days, and need to at least manage for the next 10 days. Pain shown on maxillary right first molar teeth. At times even the pain killer doesnt settle the pain. Please suggest a good pain killer, drops, paste anything for her to manage for the next two weeks. Doc has suggested for dolo 650 and Montex in the night along with calcium tablets. And a pain killer and the pain mainly aggravates in the night.

Also does this Colgate Pain Out Dental Gel give any temporary relief.

Brief Answer:
Take antibiotics along with pain killer

Detailed Answer:
Hii XXXXXXX first of all thank you for approaching us with your query. I read through it. I feel it can be infection of upper molar. I suggest you to make her take amoxycillin 500mg thrice for 5 days along with pain killer Mefanamic acid paracetamol combination thrice daily for 5 days along with ranitidine twice daily for 5 days(if she has any gastric related issue while having medication otherwise not required).Tell her to do warm salt water gargle, also do steam inhalation as this infection of upper molar can cause headache due to sinusitis(root of uppermolar is near to sinus). Tell her to avoid having sweets and too cold and too hot food stuffs from that side. There is nothing much to be worried in this.Follow these and she will be fine.Once you are covid negative immediately meet your dentist and get it treated. Hope you and family be out of this covid soon. Stay healthy. Thank you and have a healthy day.
