Hi, I’m 42 Years Old And Male; 30 Years Ago

Question: Hi, I’m 42 years old and male; 30 years ago my parents noticed a bulge in my left lower jaw; then and one more time seven years after the doctors had biopsy and the result was that it was fibrous dysplasia. I never did anything about it as it was not badly noticeable. But now I want to see a specialist and undergo surgery to remove or trim it (or whatever the correct phrase is!).
I would like to ask for information about the surgery itself; what it entails; whether it is doable and safe, and the rest. And also what specialist I need to see for the purpose?
Thank you!
Best regards,
Mohsen

Brief Answer:
You should consult an Oral Surgeon

Detailed Answer:
Ho.
Thanks for the query.

Well, for Fibrous Dysplasia you need to get a thorough clinical examination and x ray done by an Oral Surgeon.
It will help in ruling out that you need surgery or not

However surgery can be done or done depends on the size of the mass and the severity to which it has encroached the bone..

So accordingly the advise can be given.

Hope this helps..
