Question: Hi, I woke up today, with a stuffed up nose , I did a saline rinse in my nose, and headache above my eyes and my neck hurts and I feel a little dizzy too. I took my blood pressure and it was 126/75 and I’ve taken some allergy pills. I don’t think my ears are plugged up, not sure. But could this be my sinuses clogged up making me feel dizzy?

Brief Answer:
Can be because of clogged ears.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

I think that you are feeling dizzy because of clogged ears and because of the head movements you have done during rinsing the nose.
You can also take Tylenol which works well as decongestant containing pseudoephedrine.
I think you may need to continue rinsing nose and using antihistamines which can help you fight the congestion.

Hope I have answered the question.

Should I put drops in my ear to soften the wax? Do you think I need to get my ears cleaned out? My nose is still stuffed up and I’m a little dizzy yet. Will that go away, the dizziness?

Brief Answer:
No need for ear drops.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and thank you for asking again.
I don't think you may need to put drops on your ears because I don't believe that wax is causing the problem.
I believe that the stuffy nose and congestion is causing ear blockages and dizziness.
I think using antihistamines and decongestant such pseudoephedrine and phenylephrine can be helpful.

I don’t know if the other one went through. But I went to fast care yesterday morning she looked in my ears said I have a lot of fluid behind each ear that’s why I’m feeling dizzy. One ear had some wax in it they cleaned that one out. She put me on pseudoephedrine-Sudafed that you have to ask the pharmacist for, plus Flonase and Claritin. She said it’s going to take time for me to get better it’s not going to happen right away, she said 1-2 weeks before I start feeling better. I still have this headache above my eyes and my neck hurts will that go away in time? Does my neck hurt because of the fluid behind my ears?

Brief Answer:
Can be sinusitis, neck pain not related to it.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and thank you for asking again.
According to the description you gave and the treatment you are taking I can guess you are really congested.
I believe that the pain above eyes may be caused by congestion and possibly sinusitis.
About your neck pain I don't believe it can be related to congestion.
It can be related to cervical spine issues.
You can take also acetaminophen or ibuprofen about the neck pain.
If it still doesn't get better you can do an x-ray to check it further.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
