Question: Hi I wanted to ask a question concerning some issues i have had. I have been having issues in my groin area for awhile ever so often i get an inflammed feeling inside of my urethra where it comes and goes. It doesn't burn when urinating it seems the inflammation progresses after are it feels like it just sits in the inside and feels inflammed sensation as I go on through the day but it's on and off are mold to a little past mild. It goes away and months later it will come back. I have had a scope up my urethra 2 yrs ago everything was negative recently I got blood work and urine samples done the other day and everything was fine a whole blood screen and I have to get an cut scan with contrast tomorrow. I am really mind boggled . With that being said my girl has genital herpes we been have sex with condoms we dont do anything while outbreaks are anything like that and we had sex two weeks ago and seem like it started the next day after of me feeling like this I have no lesions no bumps no skin rashes everything looks normal except for the inflammation feeling that feels like it's in the inside of my penis could you have a herpes lesion inside your urethra without physical lesions are should I say outbreaks on the outside of your genitals. Its confusing but this has been for awhile so maybe it could be coincidental being that we had sex two weeks ago I'm just wondering can you help. Would it be sign of herpes are i would have other symptoms

Brief Answer:
herpes does not present with only burning without genital lesion.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to `Ask A Doctor` service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

* As per my clinical experience, genital herpes does not show up as only
burning or inflammation sensation in urethra without genital lesion.

* So, in your case the problem seems to be urethritis most likely.

Currently just maintain hydration with plenty of liquids and be calm till the result of contrast scan tomorrow.

Would like to have follow up with the report or early as per the need.
Wish you fine health.
