Hi, I Stubbed My Left Big Toe Hard And Fell

Question: Hi, I stubbed my left big toe hard and fell over today. I cannot comfortably flex my big toe and the lateral edge of my 1st MTP is tender to touch. I used to be a ballerina so I have a well established sesamoid bone. I don't have much swelling over the toe joint. I'm going to attach my xrays (it only allows to attach two views,) is it possible I have caused myself that kind of focal pain by whacking the sesamoid bone? It felt a bit like glass to touch on the lateral edge and is very stiff after this fall, although a tiny bit better. What have I done eek!

Brief Answer:
No fracture

Detailed Answer:
Hi there

Thanks for the query

After having a look at the xrays it does not appear to show any obvious bone fracture. There may be injury to the soft tissues which will subside soon. Apply ice and keep the limb elevated. Ibuprofen can be taken for the pain and inflammation.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
