Hi, I Have A Question. 10 Days Ago I Stopped

default
Posted on Wed, 20 May 2020
Question: Hi, I have a question. 10 days ago I stopped drinking after a 2 week drinking binge and I still feel a little dizzy, is that normal? I no longer have any other detox symptoms just the mild dizziness. I asked before and a Dr told me is normal because of the drinking binge, this has never happened to me before, just want to get a second opinion. My appetite is normal, I sleep good, I'm hydrated, no fever, no cravings, no heart related symptoms. Is there a way I can improve that or what do you think? is the dizziness normal or not? and if it is normal, is there anything I can do to fix that quicker?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

First of all I like to inform you that after binge drinking some effects of it can last from one week to one month although most cases become completely asymptomatic within two weeks of abstinence from alcohol.

As I can see that the sleep, appetite, hydration and symptoms suggestive of any major problem are absent, there is no need to worry. It is possible that within few days you will feel completely normal without any intervention.

However I feel you should get your serum electrolytes done if symptoms persist (beyond two weeks) as prolonged dizziness can not be considered completely normal.

Currently it is important to remain completely abstinent, take plenty of fluids, stress management, engaging yourself with some or other activities. These activities will ensure smooth recovery.

I hope this helps you.
Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.
Thanks and regards.
