Hi, I Discovered These Two Marks, Growths Or Whatever They

Question: Hi, I discovered these two marks, growths or whatever they are, between 16 and 19 days after a massage that turned erotic where only her hands were on my penis. No other contact. The marks are below the head on shaft of penis. First picture is what it looked like yesterday (with pinky finger to help indicate size) and second is a few hours later following a shower. Very worried and concerned about this extremely regretful and stupid mistake.

Brief Answer:
Regarding genital lesions

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I have gone through your query and reviewed the images.

They seem like they were lesions of folliculitis, perhaps due to occlusion of hair follicles and they seem to have ruptured in one of the images.

Massage is otherwise safe and there is no risk of transmission of any STDs. I suggest you just put a topical antibiotic e.g either Neosporin ointment or Mupirocin 2%ointment, twice daily for a few days and they should get fine.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if you need any more assistance.

Regards

Dear Dr. Kakkar S.,

Thank you for your response. I have a follow-up question. Apologies as I'm just clear on this. Sounds like there was no chance of (1) herpes or (2) syphilis or (3) HPV being transferred from what you said. That seems to be great news. However, I'm not aware of any hair follicles in that area of my penis and non are showing in the pictures. I had to look up folliculitis on the internet so I likely don't understand what that entails. So my question is this... are you saying there is no way those painless things are related to any of the 3 STDs above?

Brief Answer:
Regarding genital lesions

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
There is no risk of any STDs, whatsoever from just a hand to penis massage. Hair follicles are present everywhere except on palms and soles. They are certainly present on the outer skin of penis. Those bumps were probably one of those infected follicles. Just use a topical antibiotic ointment e.g Neosporin ointment.
Take care.

Hello Dr. Kakkar S.,

Last question I promise. I just want to put this behind me, and had previously read about people with Herpetic Whitlow and Secondary Syphilis rash on hands. Many, many websites say even on hands those diseases are still highly contagious. If so, how does Syphilis and Herpes not spread to penis via their infected hands during penile massage?

Thank you and apologies for this last question.

Brief Answer:
Regarding STDs

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

These are extremely rare scenarios. Of course, a herpetic whitlow can be a source of infection through skin to skin contact, such as a body massage but your penile lesions didn't look like herpes. Secondary syphilis rash even if on hands is not infectious because its dry and scaly. Only mucosal lesions of secondary syphilis e.g oral ulcers and genital condyloma XXXXXXX are infectious in syphilis.

Take care.
