Question: Hi, I broke an led light bulb (a GE vintage style light bulb) outside when throwing it out and touched a small piece of the bulb with my hand. I then read online that led light bulbs contain lead and arsenic. I washed my hands afterwards. What should I do exactly?

Brief Answer:
no medical issue if no deep laceration or tissue damage.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query and here is my advise.

* As per my clinical experience, touching a small piece of led light bulb with
hand does not cause concern with lead, arsenic poisoning or other
detrimental effects.

I would like to know further details so that I can answer your query completely.

1. Was there any laceration, breach in the continuity of the skin or some sort
of bleeding in contact area of hand ?
2. If any skin issue is visible through naked eye, kindly attach a photo image
of the same during follow up conversation.
3. Is there any pain or burning at the local area ?
4. If tetanus vaccination status known to you , kindly mention please.

Awaiting for your response.
Regards.
