Question: Hi, I am suffering with illness anxiety since 2014, i have been on allopathic medicines until 2015. since 2015 to 2019 I am fine, but symptoms relapsed in 2019, since then I am on allopathic medicines. currently using Escitalopram Oxide 10mg + colonepam 0.25 mg daily once at night, sleeping problems occuring in between, i started to research on homeopathy medicines, find useful acidum phos 30CH german and dr reckweg nux vomica 30CH, I started using phos 5 drops afternoon and before bed, and nux vomica 3 drops before bed, my intension is to get rid of allopathy medicines and started to use homeopathy, I have started meditation and going to zym, I am diabetic, 44 years old male. can you correct me dosages of those medicines and please guide me about nux vomica how long we can use safely, my intention is to tampering allopathy medicines slowly by taking help of my family doctor. please guide me.

Thanks for contacting me with your health concern and after reviewing your health query I am of the following opinion:

A. Practice stretching Yoga poses [Dhanurasana, Matsyasana, Janu Shirsasana, Paschimottanasana, Hastapadasana], hot shower and massage are simple techniques to overcome muscle tension from anxiety.

B. Since the said problems can be grouped under GAD [generalized Anxiety disorder], Dietary Regime and Lifestyle management along with Medicine is initiated from my side according to “manovaha srotas vyadhi”

C. DIETARY REGIME

i. Avoid alcohol, pepper, garam masala, mustard oil, pickles, rye, spicy food, anger, grief, fear, late night waking, garlic, ginger, onion.

ii. Take: mint, coriander, tomato, and cumin, plenty of water, vitamins and mineral supplements, apple, banana, grapes, dates

D. HOME & NATURAL REMEDIES

- Lemon juice mixed with sugar in a glass of water helps release stress removing hormones from the body and bring mind at peace/rest OR eat 2 spoons coriander [Dhaniya] seeds with 2 spoons of sugar candy [mishri]

- Apple, almond, banana, broccoli, cantaloupe, melon, carrot, cashew nut, corn, cauliflower, grapes, guava, lemon, XXXXXXX orange, pineapple, soybean, spinach have antioxidant and detoxifying properties so take them in plenty.

Since nervousness, anxiety, agitation, and emotional disturbances are ADR [adverse drug reaction] and gets aggravated/increased in anxiety/depression, thus if thinking of stopping the drug avoid abrupt withdrawal i.e. gradual tapering of the dose is to be done.

- As you are already under supervision of your attending Physician for the said drug(s), thus make sure to let him know that you want to switch over to alternate system of medicine so that he is well aware [in advance], since after that I can let you know about the dosage, frequency and duration of the natural medicines which will take care both of your anxiety as well as diabetic issues [ if any]
