Hi. I Am Having Constant Tension And Pressure Around My

Question: Hi. I am having constant tension and pressure around my face and radiating around my left rib that does not go away gets worse whenever I am rested, mostly when I am laying down in bed, and midly when I am standing up or sitting without moving. The tension instantly goes away whenever I move, whether it be by walking or doing some degree of physical activity. Also, i sometimes get light muscle spasms throughout my body. I have been thinking that it may be due to stress, or maybe due to muscle tightness caused by scoliosis, but given that it does not go away and has been lingering for months, which is worrying, even though I stay calm about it (my family members do not know about it). Also, it is important to note that I had some anxiety problems about a year ago, which I got treatment for with SSRIs, and I thought i was not gonna have any more problems, until I started having some muscle spasms in my left rib which then led to radiating tension around that area, which then led to the mild headaches I am having. At first, i thought it was some sort of anxiety symptom and that it might go away, but these symptoms have been continuous since january and I do not know if its just anxiety or something else. I am not really anxious about it, i just find it very annoying that there is a constant tension around my face (feels like a tight band around it), and in the left side of my chest that does not go away and I do not know what is causing it. I would greatly appreciate a response from you guys!

Brief Answer:
Please consult a doctor in person

Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend. Thanks for the question. Here you are talking about chest tightness pain around left rib present for months. Have you consulted any doctor? Before doing any other treatment for stress, anxiety depression, it is clinically essential that a doctor determine that the discomfort is not associated with physical causes such as heart, lungs or muscle problems. Therefore first please consult a doctor in person and get the tests done.

In the meantime, the pain could be associated with stress, anxiety and psychosomatic obsession reasons. Classic Anxiety chest pain symptom is "constant pain present in rest which goes away when you work". Therefore your case could be anxiety related.

Please consult a doctor in person and get the tests done.

Take care

Thank you for your response! In the past few weeks, I hae done some stretching exercises for scoliosis and my chest pain and spasms have diminished dramatically, and my tension headaches (that feel like a tight band around my forehead, tension in nose as well as in the sides of the head) have been getting worse, especially at night. These headaches, like the chest pain, also go away after physical activity. I am assuming this is stress related, even though its constant and never goes away, i always feel the tension even if only to a small degree, and it is never painful, just discomforting and annoying. Also, it tends to branch out to other places as I am rested, only to subside completely just by moving a little bit.

Brief Answer:
Hypersensitivity

Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend. Thanks for the follow up. I do assume that your pain is stress related. But unless properly diagnosed, your stress will not go.

We all are worried when we get pain because we fear diseases. Such fear worsens pain. Called hypersensitivity.

once your doctors clear all the physical doubts, releived, your fear comes down drastically. Reduces stress considerably and hypersensitivity and pain reduces.

Please consult your doctor to rule out physical causes. Take care
