Question: Hi I am a epileptic patient since last more then 20 yes. For the past 13-14 years I was taking eptoin 100 mg 2 tab daily and I didn't have any epileptic attack .3 days back I again had a epileptic attack and was admitted to hospital.the doctor asked to stop eptoin and prescribed levipil 500 mg 3 times daily.but this medicine is rotating my whole body.should I move back to eptoin.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

It's not advisable to stop levetiracetam for you.

You have started this medicine only since three to four days, so your body is trying to adjust with medicine.The dizziness complaint is due to side effect of this drug.
Usually in 3-4 week this side effect subsides.

If you feel dizziness more and troublesome than dose adjustment can be done and for that you can consult your neurologist. Don't stop it without doctor advise.
