Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I reviewed the attachments.

As I see in the photo the discharge looks thick and clear.

I would like to know if you have other symptoms such as frequent urination or burning while urinating?

It can be related to a urinary tract infection.

Do you drink enough liquids in the daily basis?

It can also be related to low water consumption.

Do you have a weak or interrupted urine stream?

Another possible cause can be chronic prostatitis.

I will be waiting for your response to help you better.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi Dr,

There is no burning while urinating. I do drink enough liquids I believe. Sometimes I think i have a weak or interrupted urine stream because it continues to drip after I urinate. Urine continue to drip after I am done urinating. Is that what you mean by interrupted? I do urinate somewhat frequently but I believe it's because I drink water during the day or can be stressed from work. However, I am not sure. I may urinate 6-7 days per day.

Actually, the thick substance comes out after I am done urinating and I think I may have a little more to urinate so I stay there and then it comes out like this.

Brief Answer:
Probably chronic prostatitis can be the cause of your symptoms.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again dear,

The symptoms may be related to chronic prostatitis.

There are many causes of this diagnosis such as recurrent urinary tract infections.

Psychological stress can also trigger the symptoms.

I recommend to do some examinations to confirm the diagnosis.

I suggest a urine test, semen test and blood test to check for a possible infection.

I also suggest to do a prostate ultrasound.

A physical examination by a urologist may be needed to help with the diagnosis and specific treatment.

Hope it helps dear.

Take care,

Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi

Hi Dr,

Thank you for the response. Do you think it could be an STD-Chlamydia? I hear they are similar symptoms. I have not had unprotected sex in many years. i have had protected sex. I had had several hand jobs. I don't recall having nay sexual contact days before this first occurred but I hear symptoms can take months to develop. Not sure though.

I don't recall having any recurrent urinary tract infections.

Brief Answer:
Yes, I recall that you did an AZO urine test some months ago.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again dear,

If you had protected sexual intercourse the possibility of Chlamydia is very low.

I remember that you had the same symptoms some months ago.

The AZO urine test was positive for a urinary tract infection based on the changing colour.

So, I suggest to do the recommended examinations to check the prostate condition and take proper treatment.

Feel free to contact me again after the examinations for further evaluation.

Hope it helps tear,

Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi.

I think I took a urine test before and sent you the results. I bought the strips and it changed colors. I went to the pharmacy but I will need to go to lab I guess. Do you recall?
