Suggest Remedies For Excessive Salivation In A Pancreatic Cancer Patient

Question: Hi, Doctor. My mother has been diagnosed with PC (local, advanced).The chemo has been stopped , because of her general health condition(weakness, nausea, pain, lack of appetite). She developed ascites and pulmonary embolism. I am trying to put her back on her feet and resume chemo. We can manage pain with pain killers, we use patch for nausea) What bothers her now is a non stop salivation . What would you suggest to stop it? and how to improve appetite?

One can expect variety of symptoms in patient suffering from the pancreatic cancer. It is important to look for the cause of excessive Salivation.
It is crucial to look for any obstruction in the pharynx and esophagus.
As far as symptomatic treatment is concerned , one may think of using atropine injections for it.

Based upon the clinical scenario you have presented, she needs multidisciplinary approach involving surgeon , physician, And physiotherapist.
She needs to be hospitalized for proper management.
