Question: Hi Doctor I had sex with a prostitute with condom only for a minute Or two in XXXXXXX 2019. Also tried to kiss her but was not able to kiss her as she did not let me kiss her properly.Just had a lips kiss slight. After that I had a Cmia Test at dr lal path lab in Feburary 2020 which was negative with 0.07 hiv index. Even I ejaculated outside in the room and not inside her. Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to ASK A DOCTOR service.
Thanks for posting your query.

CMIA test for HIV is a 4th generation test. It detects the HIV 1 Antigen and antibodies for both HIV 1 and 2. It is a highly reliable test up to the extent of more than 99.5%, especially after the window period. You had the test nearly 7 months after the exposure.

So it is almost confirmatory and conclusive.
Nothing to worry about. Forget about the incident and carry on with your routine life.

Brief Answer:
Further HIV test is not necessary for you

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
We cannot rule out that your sexual activity had no risk. Duration of the intercourse has nothing to grade the risk of exposure. Contact with the infectious material and exchange of body fluids those matter.
But your test is a highly reliable test and the negative report ruled out HIV infection. Probably she would not be HIV positive woman.
As per WHO criteria to reveal the test report in case of a positive test, to have one more test before disclosing the result to the individual as there is very little possibility of false positive results. But as far as the negative reporr, there is no such guidelines.
My personal opinion is that you don't need any further test. At the same time you have to understand that there is no test is available 100% fool proof. Now it is up to you to decide whether you need any further test or not.

Brief Answer:
You are absolutely safe from HIV Infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
If you had your sex with condom protection, then your HIV risk is almost nil. Moreover your 4th generation HIV Combo test was nonreactive. So you are free from HIV Infection 100 %. Sex with condom protection is called as protected exposure. Not to worry at all. Relax and carry on with your normal routine. No further test is needed for you for HIV infection.
