Brief Answer:
PID or ovulation

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

POD is the pouch of XXXXXXX is a second space in the peritoneal cavity of the abdomen where fluid gets collected soon after ovulation.

In the case of pelvic inflammatory disease, where there is an infection in the uterine parts or ovaries, the pus or fluid oozed from the inflamed parts can end up in the POD.

This needs further evaluation like total WBC count to ascertain whether the POD fluid is due to infection.

Hope, I answered your query.

Wish you good health.

regards,
