Question: Hi - I am male 41 years old. I did a regular blood test as recommended by my doctor
for a persisting skin problem. While nothing significant came out of it, i noticed that
my TSH count showed 5.37. Report attached. Let me know if there's anything
I need to do bring this down.

Hello and rhank you for asking!
I have gone carefully through your concern.
The slightly elevated TSH is suggestive for underactive thyroid or hypothyroidisim.
Usually ot is caused by an autoimmune disease called Hashimoto thyroiditis and is a chronic pathology.
You need to check antiTPO and antiTg antibodies to confirm the diagnosis.
If they are high you need to start treatment with levothyroxine and check TSH after 6 weeks to be sure that the dose is right.
A thyroid ultrasound is also recommended.
