Brief Answer:
Thin section CT scan might help

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

A 6 mm foreign body can be located using a thin section CT scan of the area. This can be processed to 3D images for better imaging.

A CT scan is a machine using xrays in high concentration to create 3 D images. There is no separate 3D xray procedure.

Brief Answer:
There is no clear object in the MRI image, all images need to be looked at

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I am a radiologist answering your questions.

The xray of the hand with the foreign body is showing a linear opacity in the shape of the object and sharp margins.

The MRI image does not show the entire object in length and the margins are not too sharp.

I have discussed it with my team of radiologists, and after viewing the xray and MRI image we feel that, though the MRI image does not show the object in question clearly, there is a need to take a look at all the MRI images to give an accurate opinion.

Also to add, a CT scan will be a better test to point out the object if it is within the body or to say with accuracy that there is no such object.
