Question: Hello there hope someone can help me out I do suffer from ibs tiday after dinner I felt bloated I did have veggies and this does happen but an hour later I had pain that came and went in upper stomach and feels upset . I know could be something I ate isn’t sitting well. Any suggestions?

Hi and thank you for choosing Ask a Doctor service for your query,
As problem is associated directly after eating food it could be a case of gastroenteritis.
So intially I would suggest you to take Pantoprazole 40mg one tablet ASAP(over the counter).
However in case of vomiting and diarrhea you would need a course of antibiotic for 3 days.
Ofloxacin 200 mg twice and Metronidazole 400 thrice to kill bacteria.
However initially take Pantoprazole and drink ORS or Electral or Gatorade.
Take Bland diet ...Rice and yoghurt with banana is ok.
In case loose motion starts please revert back!
