Brief Answer:
you may be having aacid reflux

Detailed Answer:
hello

Your symptoms are very typical of an acid reflux from your stomach , which is called gerd- gastro-esophageal reflux disease.

In this condition , acidic contents of the stomach will come into the throat , specially on lying down, which can cause pain , difficulty in swallowing , cough , etc.

I would like to meet your gastroentrologist , who will examine you and do an endoscopy to confirm this , once the diagnosis is known , then treatment can be initiated.

gaviscon may not be sufficient and you may need to start on other medications.

for the mean time i would like you to avoid , tea , coffee ,smoking , alcohol and spicy food and to take a light dinner 2-3 hours before sleeping.

Take care
