Brief Answer:
No

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for using the Ask a doctor service.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. The symptoms to take awhile to subside. You need not continue the antibiotics. However the regimen contains Omeprazole which needs to be continued for 6 weeks. I hope the symptoms of subsite by then.

Feel free to write back.

Thanks for ur reply doctor

How much mg of omneprazole and once or twice a day??

Should i go for another 14 days antibitic course with tinidazole+ amoxy after one month to be sure of complete eradication and rule out clathromycin resistance?

What are the chances of recurrence?

Any diet to follow and for how many days?

Can my husband and kids be infected with this as we use to share food

Detailed Answer:
Sorry for the inadvertent delay in responding.

Omeprazole 40 mg/day (in 1 or 2 divided doses) can be taken for 6 weeks.

I would not recommend another course of antibiotics.

The chances of recurrence remain as the source of H pylori was originally from oral route. So, there remains a chance that contamination occurs again and that it finds the ideal conditions in your stomach once again. But that should not be our concern now.

The diet should be rich in fibers and it would be desirable to avoid spicy items and chillies in the diet. No other specifications.

It is unlikley that you would spread H pylori to your family, but it is theoretically possible.

Everything seems quite normal if i eat bland diet..

I want to ask why i am nt able to digest even a small amount of a bit heavy food and till how long my situation remains like that...and wats the reason behind this if i am cleared of infection

Brief Answer:
Due to irregularities in bowel movement

Detailed Answer:
Your problem of burning sensation after minimal feeding seems to be due to gastroesophageal reflux. Our gastrointestinal tract has a forward propulsive movement (peristalsis) that moves the food material forward as it is digested, absorbed and finally expelled as feces. If somehow this movement gets hampered, food along with the digestive juices would stagnate, stomach acid will reflux into the food pipe, digestion will suffer.

On the other hand, bowel habits would not be proper. Degradation of undigested food in the intestines by the intestinal bacteria would lead to the excess gas formation. All this is independent of H pylori.
