Question: Hello, how are you? I would like to know how high is the risk of transmission on the first 24 to 48 hours right after HIV infection and also, if the kind of hash that I have is a symptom of acute HIV infection. It has been 25 days since I've been exposed. Pictures are on this link https://www.dropbox.com/sh/nkxele9u5eazyiq/AAAQEfpRR3m7eVr4XA5sq7x8a?dl=0
Thanks in advance

Brief Answer:
You can still infect your sexual partner.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome in "Ask a Doctor".
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Based on your history, you should know that till the moment that the HIV virus is entered in your body starts to replicate very quickly.
So, that means that even if you do not see or feel any early symptoms when you first become infected with HIV, however, you can still infect your sexual partner.
I have seen carefully your picture and I think these are just some elements of skin infection that probably are not related with early HIV infection.

Hope I have answered your query.
Feel free to ask me further.

Thank you for your answer. For what I know the higher the viral load the more infectious it is. Would it be high enough on the first day to be considered very risky to have sex without condom?

About testing, does the presence of symptoms means the exams should already be resulting as positive? The 4th generaton abbot blood laboratory test.

Brief Answer:
The risk to transmmit the infection still exist.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome in "Ask a Doctor".
I am sorry for my late response.

Yes, it is true , the higher viral load the more infectious the person is.
In the first day of infection maybe the viral load is not so high but the risk to transmmit the infection still exist.
Usually, the presence of early HIV symptoms means that the person is HIV positive.

Hope I have answered your query.
