Hello, On September 25 I Had Tear Trough/cheek Filler Dissolved

Question: Hello,

On September 25 I had tear trough/cheek filler dissolved with hylenex on both sides. Afterward I applied ice and pressure for about 10 minutes. Two days later I noticed my cheek not moving on my left side and my smile is lopsided. It has been three weeks with no improvement. Is this substance able to cause permanent damage to muscles? I had an MRI done and it was normal. I am desperate for help and do not understand the cause of the paralysis.

Brief Answer:
HYALURONIDASE COMPLICATIONS

Detailed Answer:
Hi...
Welcome to "Ask a Doctor" Service.
I am Dr Ajeet XXXXXXX

I have gone through your query and here is my opinion.

Common complications of such cosmetic procedures are redness, swelling, allergic reaction, bruising, lump or granuloma formation.
Muscle and nerve injuries are not a usual complication.

If your face looks crooked or sagged, that might be a Bell's palsy which is idiopathic in origin.
It is unlikely that this is due to your hyaluronidase but if it persists,I recommend following up with your Doctor for complete evaluation.

Hope that I have answered your query.
Stay healthy and stay blessed.
Regards.
