Question: Hello. My name is XXXXXXX I have some pain in my left testicle. The testicle is somewhat extended. There is a lump-like substance that I feel, but I haven't seen it. I say lump, but it's more like a bulge. The lump isn't painful. Is it a varicocele? Thank you.

Hello
Thanks for query .

Based on the facts that you have posted the lump in Testicle that you have could be either a Cyst of Epididymis or a Varicocele however the diagnosis can be confirmed only on clinical examination and following basic tests
1) Ultrasound Scanning of Scrotum
2) Color Doppler study of Scrotum.

Please consult qualified Urologist for clinical examination and get above mentioned tests under his guidance .

Both the conditions are not harmful if left untreated
However if Varicocele is of high grade may cause infertility. Hence it is always safe to get the diagnosis confirmed
