Hello, My Date Of Conception Is XXXXXXX 21st. I Have
Question: Hello,
My date of conception is XXXXXXX 21st.
I have a 28 day cycle and usually 14-day ovulation. First Date of last period was January 7th.
On XXXXXXX 28th, I had a root canal. I took 500mg of amoxicillin 3x/day for 7-8 days after that.
I also took ONE pill of generic Norco (hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5/325mg) on the night of XXXXXXX 28th and another on the night of XXXXXXX 29th. Two pain pills total over 48 hours out of the 16 the endodontist gave me.
Assuming I ovulated around my date of conception, this would’ve happened right around implantation or shortly thereafter.
I have an appointment with an OBGYN next week but I’d like to know how likely is it that this minor opioid usage hurt my baby?
I also drank a few beers here and there the weekend of Feb. 1st but nothing crazy.
I took a pregnancy test today with First Response Rapid Result and got a positive result.

Brief Answer:
Not likely to affect the baby.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concerns.
Taking only two therapeutic doses of hydrocodone that too 24 hours apart right at the time of implantation is not likely to affect your baby in any way. Having a few beers once in a while is also not worrisome. This is not likely to harm your baby. No need to worry.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you may have.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.

Thanks so much, I thought so but it’s always good to check!
Also, I started taking a pre-natal today (Nature Made Brand with DHA) and it’s making me super nauseous.
I’ve read that Iron inside pre-natal vitamins can do this.
If I pick another pre-natal brand without Iron, should I be worried that I’ll be iron-deficient?
If you have a recommendation for a pre-natal for women with sensitive stomachs, I’d appreciate it. Thanks!

Brief Answer:
You can avoid iron supplements now.
Detailed Answer:
Usually iron supplements are started after 14 weeks. You can choose a supplement with no iron to reduce the nausea. Your doctor can also prescribe you the supplement best for you.
