Question: Hello Mam,

This is Anupriya here. I visited a ENT specialist as I was mentioning earlier. They did clean the wax from my ear and told me I do not have any ear infection. They said I do not have any sign of sinusitis. Few days back I was having so much head pain I had to go to Hospital where they did my Head CT scan and found nothing. They have asked me to go see a Neurologist. Please advise what is going on with me and what should I do.

Thanks & regards,

Brief Answer:
Probably a tension type headache or migraine.

Detailed Answer:
Hello my dear,

I understand your concern.

I am sorry that you continue to have head pain.

I see that you have already excluded some of the possible causes such as sinusitis or the ear infection.

Based on this information, I think that the symptoms can be related to a tension type headache.

It is commonly caused by by the stress or anxiety.

Another possible cause can be a migraine.

Migraine usually last between one and two days, but they can last up to three or four days.

A neurological examination is needed to help through the diagnosis.

Meanwhile, I suggest using painkillers such as Ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day which can you can find over the counter.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello,

I am already having Pantophrazole, Polyethylene glycol, Junal FE. I do have other health problems as I have told you earlier (PCOD, GERD, mild Asthma, Gall bladder issues, Hiatal hernia) so is it safe to have take painkillers like that. I have read somewhere that taking painkiller is not safe, will they not react to my body. Kindly advise on what I need to do in this kind of situation. What is the safest painkiller which will heal me and not give me any side effects. I was once given one antibiotic but I missed one dose so could not continue with that. It was helping little bit with the pain. I cannot ask for antibiotic over the counter. So please advise what I should do.

Brief Answer:
Suggestions on treating headache are explained below in details.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear Anupriya,

To treat the headache the medications most of the time are necessary.

I would also recommend applying heat or ice compresses on the area of pain.

Hot showers can also be helpful in muscle relaxation and pain relief.

I recommend to manage the stress in the daily basis.

Massage can also help reduce stress and relieve tension.

I also recommend to use chamomile tea, which has anti inflammatory effects and can help in reliving the pain.

Hope my answer was helpful.

Feel free to contact me again for further clarifications.

Take care dear,

Hello Doctor,

I have recently visited a Neurologist and he looked at my symptoms where I mentioned to him that everything started in 2017 with my right hip pain. This pain then have moved up to my right abdomen. Now it is in my head, similar kind of pain. He said this whole thing could be neurological. He wants to do an MRI on my brain with contrast which is Gadolinium. I have read so many stories on Gadolinium and there was also a lawsuit on this few years back.

Somewhere it is mentioned that there can be traces of this contrast which can stay in my brain or any other parts of my body. I am uploading my recent blood work from an Emergency room, kindly let me know if you find any concern on my kidney health. I am really concerned on all what is going on with me. Please advise if there is any end to all my problems. This has been 2 years almost and is affecting my life in every way.

Hello Doctor,

I have forgotten to ask one thing. I do find my immunity system is very weak these days, what can I do to increase my immunity. I also looking for detoxing my body from all the chemicals that have put into through different tests and use of medicines or chemicals from day to day life. Is there any process to do that?

Please advise.

Brief Answer:
I agree with your doctor that it can be a neurological condition.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear Anupriya,

I am sorry to hear that you continue to have the same symptoms.

I agree with your doctor that the symptoms can be neurological.

Brain MRI with contrast is a very accurate examination and gives much more information than other examinations.

It is an examination that we do commonly in our daily practice in the patients if needed.

The only side effect can be an allergic reaction to Gadolinium, which happens very rarely.

There is no evidence based study that the Gadolinium stays in the brain causing permanent damage, so I suggest you not to worry.

I also reviewed the attached reports.

The glycemic level is higher then normal range, which can indicate diabetes.

ESR level is also higher than normal, which can indicate an inflammation in the system.

The other parameters are under normal range.

Hope I helped you.

Feel free to contact me again for further clarification.

Take care,

dr.Dorina Gurabardhi.
