If my results from a SERUM PROTEIN ELECTROPHORESIS test are normal, do I still have the chance of being diagnosed with multiple mieloma or similar cancers? Than you

Brief Answer:
Yes it's possible

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

In some myelomas, serum protein electrophoresis may be normal. If we have suspicion then we need to do serum free light chain assay to confirm or refute the diagnosis.

Hope this helps.

Brief Answer:
Nothing more will be required

For these symptoms and very mild anemia, if all other blood work are normal, Then I don't think hematologist is going to do anything more. Still, no harm in seeing one.
