Hello, I Just Got A Cortisone Injection A Few Days

default
Posted on Thu, 17 Dec 2020
Question: Hello,
I just got a cortisone injection a few days ago for the carpal tunnel in my dominant hand.
I was taking CBD for it before and it helped. The soreness in my hand in spite of the cortisone is so bad I am tempted to take some CBD, but I’ve heard that it’s unwise to take them together. I’ve tried to do research but I can only find information on prednisone oral, not the injection. Is it safe to use both?

CBD and Cortisone injection there is no drug interaction found.

Hello and thank you for your question. Hope I can be of help for you today. CBD and Cortisone injection there is no drug interaction found. Carpal tunnel are often combined and can include wrist splint steroid shots or pill, physical treatment. Thank you so much for the answer. I just didn’t want to take something to help with my pain and then have a bad reaction. The CBD has been really helpful. I know the cortisone is supposed to help eventually but I wanted something to help me in the meantime.
Does that apply to CBD with THC also? They have different varieties where I live and some are said to help with pain management but some are hybrids that have both CBD and THC. I just don’t want to do something I’m not supposed to but would REALLY like to lessen the pain I’m in. Thank you in advance.

Brief Answer:
For my practice we do not recommend patients to use CBD and THC for carpal tunnel syndrome

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you again for your question. There is no drug interaction between CBD and THC. For my practice we do not recommend patients to use CBD and THC for carpal tunnel syndrome due to drug illegal and many side effects. Physiotherapy and splint is helpful for carpal tunnel syndrome with drug side effects. You should see physiotherapy regularly and try to splint at bed time.

Wish you have good health. Let me know if I can assist you further.
