Question: Hello, I have G6PDD and wanted to know if alcohol drinks and smoking are ok with my status.

Alcohol and smoking are not a contraindication in G-6-PD deficiency.
However, alcohol intake and smoking should be limited as far as possible.
Immunity should be strengthened in case of G-6-PD deficiency since infections can precipitate G-6-PD associated hemolysis of red blood cells.
Alcohol affects the liver functions and smoking affects the respiratory system,thus both have deleterious effect on major organ systems of body.
