Question: Hello,
I had a lumbar laminectomy on Oct. 7. I’m almost 7 weeks post op. I have also been doing PT. Now I can barely sit and lay down. The pain is excruciating near my incision and lower left of my back. I can’t cross my legs when I lie down because my back hurts so much. There is pain in my leg and my foot feels week again. I’m so afraid something is wrong. I just feel it.

Brief Answer:
If it is painful you can try none steroid inflammation drugs (NSAIDs).

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question. Hope I can be of help for you today. Do you have spinal fusion? If you have spinal fusion you may need time to recover. See Physiotherapy regularly is very good for you. If it is painful you can try none steroid inflammation drugs (NSAIDs). Physiotherapist to strengthen the muscles around your spine and trunk. Do not put too much strain on your back or bend, lift or twist. Some activities you should avoid and follow up with your doctor. If you follow the instructions and take pain medicine not improve you should see your doctor to do examination and reevaluation.

I hope that It can help you, and please let me know if you have any clarification or question about that, and I would be welcome to discuss it with you further. I Hope you have good health.
