Question: Hello, I am 1 month pregnant. And, I have started MTP kit under the guidance of my local doctor. I am going to take misoprostol in the morning today(Wednesday, April29). I am worried about the pain. She recommended me drotin 40 mg but she has not responded on when to start and how often can I take the tablet. Pls help, its urgent.

To tackle the pain, anti spasmodic like Drotin 40 mg can help. You can take it orally thrice a day after meals. The dose can be reduced in case the pain is less. In case you have a heavy bleeding then do consult your doctor for an examination.

Thank you so much for your prompt response. Can I take drotin 40 mg right after taking the misoprostol in the morning? I intend to take misoprosol at 6 am tomorrow. I took Mifepristone on 26th April at 7 pm.

It has been almost 48 hours since you took Mifepristone. Usually for best efficacy misoprostol tablets are taken 24 hours after taking mifepristone. You can take drotin along with ibuprofen at least half an hour after taking misoprostol. It is best to get an ultrasound scan done after the medicine to confirm if there is complete expulsion of products or not.
