Hello Dr. Branch. I Saw Your Response And Thank You

Question: Hello Dr. Branch. I saw your response and thank you for following up. I am fine at the moment, I feel like the pills were not the cause of what I was feeing but rather an adulterated thc vapor cartridge. I had no idea these things were able to be faked so well. Various cartridges have undergone tests and they have been found to have various chemicals that range from pesticides, heavy metals and thickening agents. These thickening agents are purportedly some heavy oil that can cause a lipoid pnumonia. I stopped using this cartridge around two weeks ago and never really heavily used it. I only used for about a month. A few days ago, I coughed up little specks of what appear to be blood. Before that I felt i had pain in my right lung and had similar symptoms but it only appeared to be from my nose. I have had a weird sore throat that has lasted a week. I am very into fitness and was able to run a fast three miles yesterday and worked out hard today. During my workout I pushed out some white mucus and could taste a weird numbing chemical in my mouth. I feel the chemical may be a busted accutane capsule in my throat but I am not sure. After my workout I had bloody snot and can feel my ears trying to push out mucus. I have been seeing a doctor for help for substance abuse. He put me on clonidine but only stated that my symptoms were probably a result of irritation.

Brief Answer:
Probably inflammation/irritation

Detailed Answer:
Hello again, thanks for reaching out again. I have heard some things about those thc vapor machines, but they are still fairly new and I am not very familiar with them. It sounds like a good idea that you stopped using them though. As for the blood, if you are having a sore throat, and especially if you are also having nasal congestion/drainage and cough, this is most likely related to a upper respiratory infection, and like your doctor said, from irritation or inflammation. It should go away as the illness is cleared over the next week or so, so only if you continue to have this bleeding for longer than that would I be concerned enough to look for other causes.

If you are starting to have worsening shortness of breath, or coughing up blood, then I would check that out with your doctor urgently. Otherwise it sounds like it would be safe to watch it for the next week, and see if it resolves on its own.

I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any questions about any of that, and I would be glad to discuss it with you further.
