Question: Hello Doctor
I am a 54 years old male.I am having hypothyroid problem. I am taking 50 MCG Thyronorm tablet daily.My recent blood report says my TSH level at 8.2.T3 0.86 and T4 at 9.2.But my anti TPO levels are very high at1300 above.What can i do to reduce this.

dear sir, welcome to ask a doctor. hypothyroidism is an autoimmune disorder. we dont chase antibodies and don't treat them. we only treat the patient. in your case, we need to build up the dose to 75 mcg. and repest TSH / FT4 after 6 weeks.
if still u are symptomatic we will see what best can be done.

Dear sir, Thyroxine is taken on an empty stomach (prescription based medication), early morning. Do not take any other medication or food or beverage for another 30 minutes over the tablet. No food has any causative or remedial role.

I am a vegetarian. Can you help with my diet on what foods to be avoided. Taking eggs will help my condition.
