Question: Hello Doctor,

Good evening. Sorry I got little late in responding to the question you have asked me in our last communication.

In your last post you have asked for my occupation, qualification, family history, etc.

To answer that, I am Computer Science Engineer from XXXXXXX XXXXXXX with a Masters Degree in also Computer Science from NYIT, USA. I currently work in an IT company in US as Oracle DBA. My job is basically 8:30 am - 5:30 pm MON-FRI. My father has retired from BSNL, XXXXXXX couple of years back. He has degree in BCOM while my mother has no such degree to speak.

I feel confused on several aspects, I have studied hard to come to foreign land and received my Masters Degree, how can I have problems like this. I should be intelligent enough to analyse the situation and have situation awareness, think and act like a normal person. I must be doing things wrong way, that is why I am seeking your advise.

Hello Doctor,

I do need advise on how to get mind focused on 1 thing at a time, either it forgets fast or keeps on shifting from 1 topic to another. This is hampering my married life and I do not to do something very fast, what you recommend at this stage.

Due to all this my wife has to bear lot of stress, depression which is why she is going through lot of health troubles. She is loosing weight unintentionally from 150 + to now 120 + in 6-7 months.

Please advise on this so I can help her reduce all her stress, anxiety and depression.

Dear Nilendu.

I can understand. There is no need to worry. An idle mind is devil's workshop, you know it already. To keep away negative thoughts, you have to keep yourself busy.

Secondly, whenever you get negative thoughts, you can write down those thoughts on a diary and vow on the diary itself that you will never have such negative thoughts.

Physical exercises, breathing relaxation exercises and meditation will help you keep negative thoughts at bay.
