I know that traveling to exotic country's have risk of Cutaneous Leishmaniasis and Mucosal Leishmaniasis

Mucosal Leishmaniasis - is more sever

as i undestand most important is early treatment -

So if i treat cutaneous leishmaniasis early - my risk is low for Mucosal Leishmaniasis ?

and Mucosal Leishmaniasis early treatment will it reduce risk of more damage ?

Cutaneous leishmaniasis acquired in the Old World tends to resolve spontaneously (eg, L major from Iraq), but patients with this infection should receive treatment if the lesions are disfiguring, painful, infected, over joints, or slow to heal.

So in conclusion - it rarely need treatment
and it is no associated with - mucocutaneous leishmaniasis

2.antimonials as treatment drug have side effects -


Treatment with oral miltefosine could have major benefits for CL patients, especially as second-line treatment for patients whose lesion(s) do not respond to the standard antimonial treatment, or for whom systemic antimony treatment is contraindicated (e.g. patients with cardiac, hepatic, renal or diabetic disease).

as i undestand Cutaneous leishmaniasis treatment can some side effects

an in every situation the best drug in each case is chased - avoid serious side effects
is it so ?
