Brief Answer:
It is advisable to get a brain scan

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for being on 'Ask A Doctor' service...
I'm Dr. Ajay Panwar, Neurologist, here to answer your query.

As your headache transiently occurs with cough or sneezing, it may just be a primary cough headache. But, to rule out a secondary cause, I suggest you get a brain scan preferably an MRI.

We need to rule out structural abnormality inside the brain through the scan. Symptomatic medicines like non steroidal anti inflammatory medicines may be taken meanwhile.

Hope that helps. If you have any further queries, I shall be glad to answer them.

Regards,
Dr. Ajay Panwar,
MD,DM(Neurology)
