Have Ruptured Vein On Knee And Hot Spot On Ankle. Should I Consult A Doctor?

Question: Is the hot spot on my ankle bone any thing I should see a doctor about or what is this sensation about? Thank You XXXXXXX
I have had a recent vein in the knee and thigh area that ruptured and seems to have resolved but it concerns me as well as a vein that showed up on the actual white eyeball which did the same and again seems to have resolved itself.

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The spontaneous bleeding that you are having without any history of trauma is usually a capillary bleeding. In case the bleeding episodes are recurrent then bleeding disorders need to be ruled out.
You need to consult your physician to get a complete blood coagulation profile checked with APTT and platelet count to rule out other possible causes like thrombocytopenia.
This can also happen due to a viral infection in the recent past- decreases the synthesis of platelets from the bone marrow.
Presence of any autoimmune disorders also needs to be ruled out.
The treatment is based on the diagnosis and severity of the problem. Treatment is usually done by fluid infusion, steroids, immunoglobulins, blood transfusions, etc according to the severity of the condition.
The hot spot on the ankle bone seems to be due to a minor joint inflammation which s likely to subside after taking a mild pain killer like acetaminophen.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Please accept my answer in case you do not have further queries.
Wishing you good health.
