HI There, I Have A Few Inquiries About My Eating

default
Posted on Thu, 21 May 2020
Question: HI there, I have a few inquiries about my eating behaviours. I am a 17 year old girl, and as many teenagers, I struggle with accepting my body image. I started to abuse laxatives in September 2019, and stopped in January 2020. However, the past few months I have been restricting calories to under 700 per day, and obsessively weigh myself. I cannot seem to eat normally no matter how hard I try. It is a constant battle with my parents to get me to eat even a small meal. I am constantly fighting with those who want to help me, yet I still can't seem to stop my current habits. My weight has dropped significantly within a short time period, but I have not been officially diagnosed with an eating disorder. I am wondering if you would be able to provide me with a proper diagnosis.

Hi...

I have gone through your query and here is my opinion.

You are most likely suffering from an eating disorder called Anorexia nervosa.
It is a complex mental health condition, more commonly seen in adolescent girls, where the patient perceives himself/herself as overweight, restricts oral intake, is grossly underweight(due to extreme calorie cut), and has a purging behavior.

You require immediate medical help and intervention of medical and psychological experts.
Please visit your clinician for a thorough evaluation, clinical examination, and further management.

Hope that I have answered your query.

Stay healthy and stay blessed.
Regards
