Question: HI, i am 57 years old female and had a atrial valve replacement and both total knee replacements 5 years ago. I weigh 210 lbs. I take 3 mg( 6 days) & 6 mg(1 day) a week of warfrin usually depending on my weekly INR results. Is it safe for me to start the hcg diet w/ hcg drops? I did this diet 10 years ago with great success.

Brief Answer:
Please refer to the detailed answer below

Detailed Answer:
Hello

After going through the medical query raised by you I can understand your concern and I would like to tell you that there is no conclusive evidence of any significant interaction between HCG and vitamin k antagonist (acitrom) use nor any major study has been carried out on this.

However, as you are on acitrom so when you plan your diet it’s important to keep note that you need to avoid certain food item (like broccoli, spinach etc.) which can neutralise the effect of acitrom there by making you prone for valve dysfunction.

I suggest you to take the help of a certified dietician to help you with your hcg diet and weight loss.

Kind Regards
