Question: HI I am 42 year old and I have a question regarding my testicles. I am already having erection problems and i feel that my left testicle is getting softer vs the right one. I also see my veins in the scrotum area becoming visible and when i touch it feels like a web and it does not feel good at all. I am really worried and needed advice. I feel like i am too young to have such problem. Thanks

Brief Answer:
You need to visit a doctor who can examine you

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for using the Ask a Doctor service.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. I would insist you to visit a doctor Who can evaluate whether anything seems wrong with your testicles and the adjoining areas. I doubt if there would be a problem.

The erection problem perhaps involves the quality of your psychological arousal. Prolonged foreplay is the key to proper arousal which is essential in order to achieve a good erection. Moreover, you need to keep in consideration that in real life you are not dealing with porn stars or professionals and unless your expectations are realistic you would be frustrated and your erection would be poor.

I would insist you not to panic. Prolonged foreplay and psychological involvement with your partner would provide a way out. If your masturbation is proper, it would be evident that the machinery is working fine. If there is a problem, taking drugs like sildenafil (viagra, penegra) and similar ones would help. You would however need to discuss with your doctor before using them.

The next part is the involvement and psychological arousal. It might be beneficial to visit a psychologist. He/she would be able to provide you some simple tips which would help you to cope better and to let go of your mental inhibitions which might be standing in your way.

I am quite sure that would help. The role of further checkup would come only after that.

Feel free to write back.
